Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!  We have so much to be thankful for! At All Kids Need Music, a non-profit organization that helps children, we are so grateful that our therapeutic music lessons are assisting abused, traumatized, and at risk children heal and recover lost ground in their young lives.  It is absolutely amazing to witness the transformations that occur when these children are given the tools they need to process their grief.  It truly does help level the playing field in a situation where the deck is totally stacked against them for their future. What Our Program Does for Abused & At Risk Children Our therapeutic music program helps children heal and grow by: Reducing depression and anxiety. Improving cognitive functioning. Increasing academic success. Growing self-esteem. Developing personal responsibility. National Adoption Month is a wonderful time of year where many children are adopted.

No Place To Call Home AKNM August 2022 Newsletter

I hope you are doing well! It’s an incredibly busy time of year for most of us, so I appreciate you taking the time to read our newsletter. Last month I shared about what foster children experience when they go back to school. This month, I’d like to highlight an additional challenge that these vulnerable children endure.  Once children are removed from their homes to protect them, they are housed in shelters, group homes, and foster homes. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, they are forced to move an average twice a year. They pack their meager possessions in a garbage bag, backpack, or shabby suitcase. Some children quit bothering to unpack. They also quit bothering to make friends, trust adults, or connect with teachers.   Happy New Year! I hope your holiday time was filled with celebration and joy! And I know we are all hoping for a much brighter, happier 2022!   Our 2021 All Kids Need Music Annual Report is now available online for your review. Despite the numerous challenges of 2021, we are celebrating that we are able to serve 85 vulnerable orphans, homeless, and impoverished U.S. children, providing them their own musical instruments and teaching almost 2,500 therapeutic music lessons to help them heal and grow. http://ow.ly/mvk150HW9ww

  Ian’s dad is in prison. Ian found out about All Kids Need Music through a recent television interview we did. On his own, he went on our website and filled out the form to request help. He has wanted to learn to play music as long as he can remember, but there is of course no way to pay for an instrument or lessons. She was separated from her brother and sisters and placed in a group home with other abused children. The anguishing abuse she experienced should not happen to anyone, least of all an innocent child, and worst of all, at the hands of parents who were supposed to love and care for her.
