Help Abused U.S. Orphans Heal with Therapeutic Music Lessons

All Kids Needs Music provides music therapy to help kids heal from trauma. AKNM provides a musical instrument (something to call their own!), and therapeutic music lessons, plus a caring, consistent mentor that doesn’t change, even if schools or group homes have to. The U.S. orphans in our program are making really wonderful progress, and we have a waiting list of children who want to join our program. We have raised $125 of our $50,000 goal. Kids in foster care are patiently waiting for a family to offer them a life of love, safety, and happiness. No Place To Call Home AKNM August 2022 Newsletter

I hope you are doing well! It’s an incredibly busy time of year for most of us, so I appreciate you taking the time to read our newsletter. Last month I shared about what foster children experience when they go back to school. This month, I’d like to highlight an additional challenge that these vulnerable children endure.  Once children are removed from their homes to protect them, they are housed in shelters, group homes, and foster homes. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, they are forced to move an average twice a year. They pack their meager possessions in a garbage bag, backpack, or shabby suitcase. Some children quit bothering to unpack. They also quit bothering to make friends, trust adults, or connect with teachers.
